Hosting Rotary Clubs: Ellicott City Rotary Club, Greater Crofton Rotary Club
Purpose: To raise funds for youth outreach sailing programs in the sister state’s of Maryland in the USA and Rio in Brazil.
Location: Baltimore Harbor, Port Covington, Maryland
What are we going to do? Rotary clubs from around the world will pay an entry fee of $600 to have a group represent their club in the Rotary Club Regatta (RCR). Crewmembers will not all be required to be Rotarians but must be sponsored by a local Rotary club.
The Regatta will be run over the course of one day with a total of 5 races. Points will be awarded in the first 4 races based on finishing position, with the top ten teams (determined by points) racing in the final match.
Who will benefit? This years RCR will benefit two Youth Outreach Programs, the Downtown Sailing Center in Baltimore, Maryland USA(www.downtownsailing.org) and Projeto Grael (The Grael Project) in Rio, Brazil(www.torben-grael.com/english/graelproject).
